DAKOTA MEDICAL FOUNDATION

The Red River Valley Dental Access Project was awarded a three-year grant from Dakota Medical Foundation in 2000 in the amount of $323,849 to implement the strategies identified by the Red River Dental Access Committee who had been working for two years previously to identify barriers to dental care.  Strategies focused on improved dental access for all residents especially for low-income individuals and families in a 25 county area in eastern North Dakota and west central Minnesota. In 2003 provided extended grant for through November of 2004.

HEALTHY TOMORROWS PARTNERSHIP FOR CHILDREN PROGRAM (HRSA Grant)

5 Year grant awarded March 2002 through February 2006, up to $50,000 each year, with 2/3 matching funds after year 1.

Project Title:  Healthy Smiles for the Red River Valley

 

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:  The overall goal of the proposed project is to increase access to preventive and early interventional dental care for low-income children and families in the region.  Objectives: 1) removal of barriers that prevent access to dental care; 2) providing parents and caregivers with appropriate knowledge regarding proper oral hygiene practices; and 3) providing dental screenings to assess children at high-risk for oral health complications.    

 

 

OTTO BREMER FOUNDATION GRANT

Project Title:  Healthy Smiles for the Red River Valley Awarded $81,000 over 3 years as part of matching funds for Healthy Tomorrows Partnership for Children Program, Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Health Resources and Services Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services Grant
